Alexander F. Ball
Serving Oro Valley, Marana, and Greater Pima County
I am a civil litigator and business attorney based in Oro Valley, Arizona. My practice covers a wide range of civil matters, with particular emphasis on business and contract disputes, commercial litigation, creditors’ rights and judgment enforcement, and outside general counsel services for small and mid-sized businesses throughout Pima County and the greater Tucson region.
My work is grounded in clarity, disciplined preparation, and sound judgment—qualities shaped by years of public service, judicial experience, and a strong business background.

A Judicial Perspective That Shapes My Advocacy
Before founding my firm, I served as a Justice of the Peace on the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court, an office to which I was elected twice. Over the course of my service, I resolved tens of thousands of cases—contract disputes, eviction cases, protective-order proceedings, and other limited-jurisdiction matters—without a single appellate reversal. Managing that level of volume required precision, consistency, and a strong command of both procedure and practical case management.
Presiding over such an extensive docket gave me a deep understanding of how trial courts operate behind the scenes. I learned how judges evaluate written submissions, what makes advocacy persuasive, how evidentiary issues develop in real time, and how procedural choices influence outcomes. I also became familiar with the internal workflows and decision-making pressures that shape results in the courtroom.
This perspective informs my advocacy today. I focus on clarity, credibility, and disciplined preparation—approaching every matter with the insight of someone who has been responsible for deciding thousands of contested issues from the bench.

Private Practice & Federal Judicial Experience
Before launching my own firm, I practiced as an attorney with DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, P.C. in Tucson, where I focused on civil matters and drew heavily on my judicial experience.
Earlier in my legal career, I clerked for two federal judges in Tucson and completed internships with federal judges in Tucson and San Diego. I drafted extensive research memoranda and proposed orders across complex civil matters, assisted in rewriting the District of Arizona’s Local Rules, and helped develop programs to mentor and train law students. This work gave me a deep understanding of motion practice, procedural timing, and the mechanics of litigation in both state and federal courts. That background now shapes how I structure arguments, anticipate developments, and guide clients through the legal process.

Civil Practice Focus
While my practice is broad, the core of my work includes:
Civil & Commercial Litigation
I handle disputes involving contracts, business relationships, commercial obligations, and related issues. I emphasize early analysis, targeted motions, and strategic communication to manage cost and strengthen the client's position.
Creditors’ Rights & Judgment Enforcement
I assist creditors and judgment holders in converting paper rights into recoveries. This includes garnishments, liens, levies, debtor examinations, structured settlements, and negotiated resolutions, with a focus on efficiency and statutory compliance.
Outside General Counsel
I provide ongoing legal support to small and mid-sized businesses in Oro Valley, Marana, and surrounding communities. This includes contract review, risk management, and day-to-day operational guidance for owners who need a reliable legal advisor. In addition to these core areas, I am able to assist with a variety of other civil matters, and I regularly evaluate whether a matter is a good fit based on its facts, timing, and client objectives.
Business Background
Before becoming an attorney, I worked in global supply chain management and provided corporate financial analysis. That experience helps me understand how legal issues intersect with operations, finance, and long-term strategy. It also informs how I advise professionals, trades, contractors, and judgment creditors who rely on practical guidance that aligns with business realities.
